Bath’s hot springs have produced roughly a quarter of a million gallons of naturally heated water every single day for thousands of years, a genuinely uninterrupted geological process that predates the Romans who first built proper bathing facilities around it and outlasted every version of the city that’s tried to make use of it since. The Romans built an engineering marvel; centuries of neglect turned it into ruins; the Georgians built an entire fashionable city, including the Royal Crescent’s sweeping terrace of thirty houses, partly around visiting and being seen at the same springs; and in 2006, after decades when bathing in the old Roman-era pools was legally and medically off-limits, Thermae Bath Spa finally reopened the water to the public using modern facilities built to meet contemporary safety standards. Four different eras, four completely different buildings, the same water running underneath all of them the whole time. A chauffeur service Bath relies on works across the whole span, the Roman ruins, the Georgian terraces and the modern spa built to legally reconnect the city with what was always there.
From the Mercedes S-Class for everyday journeys to the Rolls-Royce Phantom for special occasions. Full pricing for every vehicle is below.
Bath sits a genuine two hours from London, far enough that most of our bookings here are single, well-planned journeys rather than casual day trips, often built around a spa stay or a specific event. Our Chauffeur Service Bath treat the distance honestly rather than underselling the time it actually takes.
Bath genuinely earns its UNESCO World Heritage status through the density of significant architecture packed into a compact, walkable city centre. Our Chauffeur Service Bath treat each address individually rather than assuming one approach fits the whole BA1 postcode, the same standard we apply at the equally historic Oxford.
Stall Street
One of the best-preserved Roman public bathing complexes anywhere in the world, built around the same hot springs still flowing today.
Royal Crescent
A sweeping terrace of thirty Georgian houses, genuinely one of Britain's great architectural set pieces.
Bath Street
The only place in Britain where the public can legally bathe in naturally hot spring water today.
Argyle Street
One of very few bridges in the world lined with shops on both sides, genuinely rare architecturally.
Bennett Street
A grand Georgian social venue, once the beating heart of Bath's fashionable season.
Lansdown
One of Britain's highest racecourses, genuinely exposed to the weather in a way lowland tracks aren't.
Notice how close Bristol Airport sits on this list, a genuine thirty minutes, considerably faster than any London airport. We’re honest about the two-hour run to London too, rather than quoting an unrealistic best case, the same straightforward approach we take with the shorter run from Cambridge.
| Destination | Estimated Time | Indicative Price |
|---|---|---|
| Bristol Airport | 30 min | from £140 |
| London (City of London) | 2 hours | from £190 |
| Heathrow Airport | 2 hours | from £190 |
| Mayfair | 2 hours | from £190 |
| Bristol City Centre | 25 min | from £140 |
| Cheltenham | 45 min | from £140 |
The old Roman-era public bathing pools stayed in some form of use for centuries after the Romans left, but by 1978 the water was closed to bathers entirely after a serious health scare linked to contamination, and for nearly thirty years the springs that had defined the city for two thousand years produced water nobody was legally permitted to enter. Current visiting information is published directly by the Roman Baths.
Thermae Bath Spa’s 2006 opening wasn’t simply a new business, it was the end of that unusual gap, a purpose-built modern facility engineered specifically to let people bathe safely in the same natural water the Romans had once channelled into stone-lined pools a few hundred metres away.
Every journey is quoted at a fixed price before you travel, with no surge pricing and no meter running while you wait.

Bristol is genuinely the fastest and most practical airport from Bath, roughly eighteen miles and often under thirty-five minutes. The London airports all sit around two hours away, and our Chauffeur Service Bath quote that honestly rather than promising an unrealistic time.
| Airport | Distance | Journey Time | Indicative Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bristol Airport (BRS) | 18 miles | 25–35 min | from £140 |
| Heathrow Airport (LHR) | 100 miles | 110–130 min | from £190 |
| Gatwick Airport (LGW) | 115 miles | 130–150 min | from £190 |
| London City Airport (LCY) | 120 miles | 135–155 min | from £200 |
| Luton Airport (LTN) | 115 miles | 125–145 min | from £190 |
The Royal Crescent Hotel and The Gainsborough both sit within Bath’s most tightly restricted heritage zones, where vehicle access is genuinely limited and a driver unfamiliar with the specific permitted routes can end up stuck outside a cordon rather than at the entrance. Our Chauffeur Service Bath know the correct approach for each address rather than guessing from a satnav.
Because Bath is a genuine two-hour journey rather than a quick hop, we build realistic timing into every quote, accounting for the M4 and the final approach through the city’s narrower streets, rather than promising a best-case time that rarely holds up, the same reliability we offer clients on a standing chauffeur account.
A genuine two hours under normal traffic via the M4, and we quote it honestly as a fixed price rather than an unrealistic best case.
Local journeys start from around £140. The price is fixed before you travel.
Bristol is genuinely the fastest and most practical choice for most journeys, roughly thirty minutes compared to two hours for any London airport.
Yes, we know the correct approach routes for both, since Bath’s heritage zones have genuinely restricted vehicle access.
It’s possible but genuinely tight given the two-hour journey each way; most clients prefer an overnight stay or a single one-way transfer.
Bath sits well outside the London Congestion Charge zone, so this doesn’t apply to local journeys.
Fixed prices, honest journey times, and a driver who knows the Royal Crescent’s access rules.
