In 2016, archaeologists excavating a building site on Curtain Road found the actual foundations of a playhouse built in 1577, where Shakespeare’s own company is thought to have first staged Henry V, a play that famously calls the building ‘this wooden O’. The dig proved that description wrong: the theatre was rectangular, not round, a four-hundred-year-old assumption corrected by a JCB. It had sat forgotten under whatever the district reinvented itself as next, repeatedly, ever since. Shoreditch does this constantly. What was genuinely one of London’s rougher corners twenty-five years ago is now Silicon Roundabout, a name a single blogger half-invented in 2008 that stuck hard enough to become government policy two years later.
From the Mercedes S-Class for everyday journeys to the Rolls-Royce Phantom for special occasions. Full pricing for every vehicle is below.
Old Street Roundabout, the physical heart of Silicon Roundabout, is a genuinely confusing piece of road layout even for drivers who know it well, and the surrounding office buildings rarely have the kind of grand, obvious entrance you’d expect from their reputation. A Chauffeur Service Shoreditch & Tech City who only knows Shoreditch by name struggles here more than almost anywhere else we cover, much as the same care is needed a short drive north in Islington.
Almost nothing on this list is more than twenty years old except Brick Lane and Spitalfields themselves, which have simply absorbed each new version of Shoreditch as it arrived rather than being replaced by it. We treat each address individually, since a boutique hotel entrance and a converted shipping container venue genuinely require different approaches.
Shoreditch High Street
A design-forward hotel that helped define the district's current identity when it opened.
Curtain Road
Named for the Shakespearean theatre once nearby, with a rooftop pool and members' club.
Shoreditch
One of the earlier boutique hotels to bet on the area, now part of a wider international group.
Bethnal Green Road
Shipping containers converted into shops and street food, one of the first of its kind anywhere.
E1
Curry houses, vintage shops and street art layered over generations of immigrant history.
Nearby
A genuine Victorian market hall a short walk south, now mixing food stalls with independent retail.

Nobody planned Silicon Roundabout as a brand. Technology entrepreneur Matt Biddulph coined the name in a 2008 tweet, only half seriously, describing the cluster of startups that had quietly gathered around Old Street’s roundabout because the rent was cheap and nobody important had noticed yet. The joke had genuine teeth: within two years, the government had adopted the district as the centrepiece of an official Tech City initiative, with a Prime Minister’s speech to make it formal.
The theatre discovered beneath Curtain Road belonged to a Shoreditch that had already reinvented itself as an entertainment quarter once, centuries before either the tech boom or whatever came between. Rag trade warehouses, then artists’ studios in the 1990s when the rent was still cheap for a different reason, then this. The pattern repeats often enough that it barely counts as surprising anymore.
One fixed number, agreed before you travel, whatever the roundabout is doing that day.

Tech City hosts a genuinely dense calendar of launches, investor pitches and conferences, most of them concentrated into unmarked office floors or converted warehouse spaces that don’t announce themselves from the street. Our Chauffeur Service Shoreditch & Tech City confirm the exact building and floor in advance rather than relying on a company name alone, since several startups can share what looks from outside like a single anonymous entrance.
For investors and founders moving between several meetings in a morning, we plan the sequence as one job, accounting for Old Street Roundabout’s notoriously confusing junction rather than assuming a straight line between addresses that are, on paper, close together, an approach that also sits inside the Transport for London Congestion Charge zone. Regular investors often set up a corporate chauffeur account for this kind of recurring schedule.
Local journeys start from around £110, with airport transfers starting at £100 depending on the airport. The price is fixed before you travel.

Yes, it’s a genuinely confusing junction even for regular drivers, and we plan routes around it rather than through the worst of it.
Yes, we plan the full sequence as one job, accounting for the roundabout rather than assuming a straight line between addresses.
Yes, Shoreditch sits inside the zone and this is already built into your fixed price.
Yes, each has its own confirmed entrance and pickup process; we don’t treat them as interchangeable.
